In addition to offering adult day support services, Residential Concepts, Inc. also offers vocational habilitation services with employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The focus of this program is to teach and reinforce responsibility, attendance, task completion, problem solving, social interaction, motor skill development, and safety. In accordance with rules and regulations, those eligible for involvement in this program must also participate in adult day support services to meet the necessary requirements. Individuals receiving vocational habilitation services are compensated according to state and federal laws.
This program operates as a functional garden center under the name, Cane Run Garden Center. Above and beyond being a vocational habilitation program for our participants, the Garden Center also focuses on the sale of plants and horticultural products to the general public. Those individuals that participate in the program have job opportunities in plant care, housekeeping, as well as customer service. For instance, job responsibilities will include: assisting in watering, pruning, and plant fertilization; creating and potting plant and flower displays; general maintenance (cleaning); and greeting visitors and customers. The Cane Run Garden Center offers basic needs for landscape projects, such as:
