Enhancing the Lives of the Disabled & Making an Impact

Residential Concepts has proudly served adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over three decades. We cover Clermont, Hamilton, Brown, and nearby counties, aiming to enrich our participants’ lives in various ways.

Our mission is simple: foster community connections, enhance social interactions, empower decision-making and independence, and introduce new life experiences to nurture mental, physical, emotional, and social growth.

Through our Adult Day Support program, individuals can engage with their community and receive personal care assistance. We offer a wide range of activities, both on-site and in the community. On-site, you will find activities like gardening, caring for animals, arts and crafts, painting, games, physical exercise, cooking, iPad fun, pottery classes, and music therapy. In the community, we explore bowling, local parks, seasonal events, karate, fitness classes, and shopping.

Our day support program operates 260 days a year, from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. We take transportation worries off your plate by offering non-medical transportation to and from our program and community outings. Our vans are well-maintained, safe, and equipped to accommodate wheelchairs when needed.

Residential Concepts also operates five residential homes, all of which are handicap accessible. These homes feature modern furnishings and are meticulously maintained to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Supports and Services FAQ

Here are some common questions and concerns related to services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. We invite you to contact us for specific questions regarding the Residential Concepts adult support services.

Our personnel must complete a background check, CPR and First Aid training, a comprehensive orientation training with an emphasis on providing supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a physical, and have acceptable driving skills. Moreover, staff are trained on what’s important to the individual and for the individual. Additionally, we have a dedicated nursing team on-site with a combined experience of 50 years.

Residential Concepts, Inc. takes our participants’ input very seriously. We believe the choice is important. Daily, participants have opportunities to explore different activities, visit places in their community, and discover new interests. Schedules are constructed to assist with routine, but the participant’s choice is always considered.

Under Ohio Medicaid Rules, to become eligible for services, a participant must meet the following criteria: 1. has been diagnosed with a severe, chronic disability, attributable to a mental or physical impairment or combination of physical and mental impairment that is not an impairment caused solely by mental illness; 2. the disability(ies) is established before age 22; and 3. the disability(ies) will continue indefinitely.

The cost of the program is paid by an individual’s Medicaid waiver. The cost of services delivered is determined by the individual’s acuity assessment, which is administered by the county board of developmental disabilities where the individual resides. If an individual does not have a waiver, then they can pay RCI privately for services delivered at the same rate as waiver services.

While we do not allow volunteers at our program, there are no restrictions on visiting unless specified in the individual’s service plan. Many parents and guardians are still very involved in the participant’s lives, taking them home for family events, holidays, and vacations.

Families who are interested in learning more about our programs and services, and would like to see our program in person, we recommend scheduling a tour.

Our participants truly are part of our extended family. Since RCI is a fourth-generation family business, we take a great amount of pride in offering quality services and supports, in clean and safe environment, to each person we serve. We only hire compassionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable personnel that want to make a difference in the lives of others. We present opportunities for our participants to reach milestones and live life to the fullest.
