Despite frigid temps and more snow, Residential Concepts has had an amazing month celebrating all that February has to offer!

Fat Tuesday Celebrations

Mgras 1

Parades, music, picnics, floats, beads, king cakes, brass bands, feathered masks, and excitement!Mardi Gras is just one big holiday in New Orleans. And here at RCI’s Adult Day Program, we spent an entire week celebrating this huge party! We partook in the Doubloon Dash, made Paper Plate Tambourines and Mardi Gras Noodle Necklaces, designed unique Mardi Gras Masks and Crowns, created Mardi Gras Masterpiece Bead Paintings, and tried our baking skills with a homemade King Cake!

Chinese New Year

The Spring Festival, Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in China and Chinese communities around the world. Family and friends gather for feasting and fireworks, parties and parades. At the day program, groups had a great time making ChinesePaper Lanterns, Lunar New Year Shakers, Cardboard Tube Red Firecrackers, and Chinese Symbol Popsicle Stick Puzzles. They also learned how to draw Chinese Dragons and participated in a Foaming Dragon Science Experiment.

Be My Valentine

Vday

We stole two weeks from February to celebrate our beloved Valentine’s Day. Here’s just some of the crafts of love that were strung throughout the day program: Candy Heart Mason Jars, Valentine Heart Wreaths, Hot Air Heart Balloons, and Love You to Puzzle Pieces!
