Heading into Fall with Residential Concepts

🍎🍂 Celebrating the Start of Fall at Residential Concepts!

At Residential Concepts, we love bringing creativity, fun, and seasonal spirit into our Day Program. September was full of exciting activities, crafts, and even science experiments as we celebrated both Apple Week and several Fall-Themed Weeks. Our participants had a wonderful time learning, creating, and sharing these experiences together.

Apple Themed Week (Sept. 2–5)

We kicked off the month with all things apple! Crafts included Yarn Apples, Apple Tube Crafts, Caramel Apple Cardboard Signs, and Paper Plate Apple Baskets. A big highlight was our Apple Tower Challenge—we cut apples into pieces, used toothpicks to build towers, and raced to see who could make the tallest standing tower in five minutes. 🍏

To add some science fun, we explored Edible Bubble Science and made Fizzy Apples, combining creativity with hands-on learning.

Fall Themed Weeks (Sept. 8–26)

Throughout the rest of September, we fully embraced the fall season with a variety of themed crafts and activities.

  • Sept. 8–12: Paint Brush Scarecrows, Fall Leaf Hedgehogs, Yarn Pumpkins, Candy Corn-themed paintings, plus homemade Pumpkin Spice Playdough and a fun game of Pumpkin Kerplunk!
  • Sept. 15–19: Bubble Wrap Corn, Pumpkin Wind Chimes, Broccoli Stamped Fall Trees, and Cinnamon-Scented Pumpkins to take home.
  • Sept. 22–26: Fall Bean Mosaics, Owl Leaf Crafts, Shaving Cream Marbling, Cotton Ball Fall Trees, Pizza Pan Fall Signs, and a festive Leaf Scavenger Hunt right here on our grounds.

Giving Back to the Community

Our special interest class also spent time making homemade peanut butter dog treats, which we delivered to our local animal shelter. It was a meaningful way to share kindness and connect with the community while having fun in the kitchen. 🐾

September was packed with creativity, laughter, and plenty of fall fun at Residential Concepts. We can’t wait to see what October brings!
