Short but Sweet July Celebrations:
July was a relatively short month for RCI’s Adult Day Program participants. The adult day program took a few days off to enjoy July celebrations and had a week closure for our dedicated and amazing Direct Support Professionals to take a vacation!

Independence Day & Crafts
To start the month, we celebrated Independence Day with “Wooden Firecrackers” and “4th of July Confetti Poppers!” We also had a great time with “Jungle Safari” week. We transformed one of our craft rooms to look like the Amazon Jungle complete with “Popsicle Stick Hippos,” “Paper Plate Flamingos,” and “Card Stock Zebras!” We also enjoyed “Down on the Farm” week. Participants enjoyed making “Cardboard Tube Chickens,” “Pool Noodle Stick Horses,” “Cow Puppets,” and “Cotton Ball Sheep.”
FireStation Visit
One group visited our local fire department for a tour of the station. The firefighters took the group on a behind-the-scenes tour of the fire station and taught them about fire safety and emergency preparedness and demonstrated their equipment and vehicles. It was an awesome way our group could learn about the important work firefighters do!
Fitness & More
Offsite we also participated in group fitness, at Anchor Fitness, karate class at Eastgate Martial Arts, and went bowling at Batavia Bowl.
