Fun Filled May Activities:
At Residential Concepts’ Adult Day Program, we take pride in planning and coordinating meaningful “themed” leisure activities and crafts each week for our participants. With person-centered, structured, success-focused activities, our participants remain engaged while having fun!
“Turtley” Awesome
We started the month of May with Reptile and Amphibian Week!
Our Adult Day Support participants enjoyed assembling “Fruit Cup Turtles,” “3D Foam Frogs and Lilypads,” and “Tissue Paper Snails.” We ended the week baking “Froggy Cupcakes,” which everyone loved!
Monster Mash Fun Activities
Arts and crafts are not only enjoyable but beneficial for developing and maintaining fine motor skills. During Monster Week, our imaginations led us to create some shriek-worthy crafts including, “Sensory Slime,” “One of a Kind Monster Masks,” and “Handprint Monster Puppets!”Toward the end of the week, we indulged in homemade “Monster Brownies!”
Let Freedom Ring
Meaningful activities that everyone can partake in and like are keys to our participant’s success and happiness. For our Patriotic Week, we made “Poppy Pens,” “Craft Stick USA Flags,” and “God Bless a Veteran Signs.” We topped off the week with “Patriotic Punch,” a red, white, and blue layered drink to honor the Memorial Day holiday.
Carnival Delights
At our day program, we aim to help participants express their emotions and thoughts, and explore their abilities and interests, all within an encouraging and lively environment.
To cap off the month of May, we built and designed a “Craft Stick Ferris Wheel” and a “Big Top Tent Carnival Carousel.” We also delighted our tastebuds with “Animal Cookie Carnival Cupcakes!”
The creativity and joy in the room were truly infectious as everyone engaged in these fun-filled activities, fostering a sense of community and accomplishment. Additionally, we hosted a themed dress-up day, which added to the excitement and allowed participants to showcase their individuality. The positive energy and enthusiasm were palpable, making it a memorable month for all involved.
Summer is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled about all the fun activities we have planned at our Williamsburg Ohio area group home! From outdoor games to community outings, we can’t wait to make this summer unforgettable for our residents and support participants.
